From Immigrant to Leader: A Journey of Resilience and Transformation

Some journeys are written in ink, while others are forged in fire. Mine is the latter. Reflecting on being named one of America’s Top 20 Women of Excellence by the Global Strategic Alliance (GSA), I realize this honor isn’t just about recognition—it’s about reaffirming my mission to empower, uplift, and create lasting impact.

This recognition highlights the transformative work I’ve done in healthcare through digital innovation, as well as my role as a mentor and multiplier, empowering women and driving meaningful social change.

I extend my deepest gratitude to AMEC, and all the congressmen and leaders for this recognition. Your commitment to celebrating women of excellence and championing women’s leadership has been crucial in amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. Thank you for standing with us and helping to create a future where every individual, especially women, can shine in their brilliance and reach their fullest potential.

August 2007: I came to the U.S. as a first-generation immigrant with big dreams.  But no roadmap, no mentor, no network—just an unshakable belief that I was meant for something bigger. My path was anything but linear. I pivoted, stumbled, learned, and grew. Then came COVID—a time that forced all of us to rethink everything. For me, it was a turning point. I had climbed the corporate ladder, and achieved success, yet something felt incomplete. I started asking myself: How can I help others navigate their journeys with more clarity, confidence, and support than I had? That’s when the idea for Own Your Color was born.

Why Own Your Color Matters: A Call to Action

Own Your Color is not just my story—it’s a call to action. It’s about embracing our unique strengths, betting on ourselves and recognizing the power of mentorship. I realized that success isn’t just about personal wins; it’s about lifting others along the way. That’s why a portion of my book’s royalties goes to Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS), Mercer County, an organization close to my heart. Because no one should have to walk this path alone.

As a leader at Publicis Sapient, I blend my advanced degrees in Computer Science and Business Administration with practical expertise to drive digital transformation, particularly in healthcare. My mission is to make healthcare more accessible, efficient, and equitable for all. By leveraging innovative digital strategies, I work to break down barriers, improve patient outcomes, and ensure quality care reaches everyone, regardless of background. My work is fueled by a passion for human-centered innovation, striving to create lasting, positive impact in business and communities worldwide.

But my impact extends beyond healthcare. My influence is felt across industries, with Own Your Colorsparking transformation in individuals and organizations alike. I truly believe that empowerment comes from embracing our unique brilliance. We all have a light to shine, and when we step into our power, we make an impact—not just on ourselves, but on the world around us.

A Movement of Empowerment, Authenticity, and Impact

The response to Own Your Color has been overwhelming. Winning over 10 prestigious awards, including the BookFest Awards, Book Excellence Awards and the International Impact Book Awards in categories such as Business Leadership, Self-Help and Female Empowerment, is an honor—but more than that, it’s proof that this message resonates. What matters most to me, though, is hearing from people who say, “This changed my life.”

On March 12th, When I was invited to Capitol Hill and Embassy of China for recognition of the impact that my book was creating in the world, I knew in my heart that this win wasn’t just mine—it was for every woman on this planet. It was a testament to the power of authenticity, to the importance of embracing who we are without fear or hesitation. During my speech, I shared a poem from my book, “Own Your Color… You are a firefly, shining bright. The world is waiting for you and needs your light” because I wanted every woman in that room and in the world to feel seen, to know that their light matters.

The Power of Allyship and Collective Progress

True progress isn’t just about individual success—it’s about collective action. Allyship is the foundation of meaningful change, and research proves that when we support one another in our communities and workplaces, we all benefit. Studies show that companies with diverse leadership teams see a 35 per cent increase in financial performance, and organizations that prioritize inclusivity are 1.7 times more likely to be innovation leaders in their industries. Diversity isn’t just good for business; it’s the key to a better future.

The Road Ahead: Accelerating Action for Lasting Change

I am committed to accelerating action by building an ecosystem of support for individuals at all levels. Through running workshops, book clubs, and establishing or improving mentorship programs that truly work, I help develop senior leaders to become better allies for women and elevate diverse voices in the workplace. These efforts are paving the way for organizations to embrace a culture of inclusion and diversity. Through the Own Your Color Academy, I am fostering a movement that equips individuals and organizations with the tools needed to create inclusive, empowering environments. My mission is to bridge the gap between ambition and opportunity, ensuring that more people, from all walks of life, can step into their power and lead with confidence.

I am creating the space where corporate cultures can shift toward inclusion—igniting self-awareness, fostering meaningful connections, and providing the tools necessary for everyone to thrive. Together, we are building a more colorful, wonderful world—both in the workplace and beyond—where every individual feels confident, shines brightly, and lifts each other up.

Invest in Mentorship and Women’s Leadership

So, here’s my call to you: Invest in mentorship and women’s leadership. Whether you’re an executive leading change, an educator shaping young minds, or someone standing at the crossroads of reinvention, now is the time to own your unique color and empower others to do the same.

Let us rise together—because when we lift each other, we all soar higher. The world is waiting for you. The question is: Are you ready to “Own Your Color” and step into your brilliance?
