Indian American Congressman Shri Thanedar (D-MI) has announced the release of his 2025 year-end campaign finance report, reporting $6.4 million in cash on hand and maintaining what his campaign described as a significant resource advantage.

According to the campaign, the report underscores Congressman Thanedar’s ability to communicate his record and priorities to voters in Michigan’s 13th Congressional District and to continue outlining how he is advocating on their behalf.

“Voters will know that I am leading the charge to protect our Democracy,” said Congressman Thanedar in a statement issued on January 31. “I was the first to introduce seven articles of impeachment against President Trump, followed by impeachment efforts against Secretaries Hegseth and Noem. I took on ICE by introducing legislation to end qualified immunity in 2025, and then introduced legislation to abolish ICE after the killings of citizens in Minnesota.”

On economic issues, the Congressman said he is focused on policies aimed at increasing tax equity. He cited his legislative efforts to raise the top federal income tax rate to 70 percent, eliminate disparities in capital gains taxation, and propose that families earning $100,000 or less pay no federal income tax.

“All while I brought in $25 million to projects across the district and while fighting against Trump’s disastrous cuts to federal programs,” he added, noting that “My office has served over 3800 constituents as they faced issues with federal agencies.”

Congressman Thanedar also expressed confidence that voters in Michigan’s 13th District will elect him again to represent them in Congress in the 2026 election.
