Alex Counts is the executive director of the India Philanthropy Alliance, which announced its formation publicly for the first time in the Stanford Social Innovation Review; the author of four books (including his acclaimed midlife memoir Changing the World Without Losing Your Mind); and an adjunct professor at the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies. He is also the founder of Grameen Foundation and AMC Consulting. Preeti Nandanar is the inaugural CEO of Aarti for Girls, the US based organization mobilizing support for Aarti India. A passionate advocate for girls’ empowerment through education, she has been an ardent supporter of the organization since its inception 30 years ago. A financial services executive with over 15 years of multifaceted experience across Investment Banking with JP Morgan and Citi, Preeti ventured into the world of entrepreneurship in 2017 establishing and managing her fashion label for 6 years. She views the opportunity to change outcomes for young girls and disrupt the cycle of poverty through Aarti as her most impactful role yet.
