During the holiday season, the American Telugu Association (ATA) is carrying out a series of community and charitable initiatives across the United States and India, including food drives, meal preparation to combat hunger, health checkup camps, visits with senior citizens, and donations to local police and fire departments.

On November 22, 2025, ATA organized one such service event in Washington, DC, where volunteers, particularly youth and high school students, partnered with DC Central Kitchen, a leading organization in the fight against hunger and poverty. The collaboration provided what ATA described as a meaningful opportunity to give back.
“Working together, we chopped, cooked, and packaged nutritious meals, fostering a strong sense of community and social responsibility. Our combined efforts not only provided essential sustenance but also highlighted the impact of teamwork and community support,” ATA said in a statement.

According to the organization, volunteers also covered the full cost of vegetables and fruits used for the meal preparation, reflecting their generosity and strengthening the impact of the outreach effort.
“We commend our ATA DC team for their selflessness, enthusiasm, and dedication to community service. Each volunteer played a vital role in the success of this event, showcasing the power of collective action,” the statement added, expressing gratitude for the volunteers’ continued commitment.
Looking ahead, ATA will host the 19th ATA Conference and Youth Convention in Baltimore from July 31 to August 2, with an expected attendance of more than 10,000 people.
