President of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), Dr. Satheesh Kathula, a distinguished hematologist and oncologist based in Dayton, Ohio, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Global Healthcare on May 14, 2025.
The award was presented by the Global Healthcare Leaders Foundation (GHLF) during its 2025 Annual Gala held at the Harvard Club of Boston.

The GHLF, a nonprofit organization founded by Harvard University alumni, is committed to tackling critical challenges in global healthcare through innovation and collaboration. In a statement, AAPI noted that the Foundation recognized Dr. Kathula’s longstanding contributions to advancing global health equity and leadership in the medical field.
An alumnus of the GHLF Program at Harvard University, Dr. Kathula has played a pivotal role in driving global health initiatives. Since assuming the AAPI presidency in July 2024, according to the statement, he has led three major international healthcare conferences in India and chaired the oncology tracks at several key summits organized by AAPI.
Among his recent initiatives is a nationwide campaign titled “Stop 3 and Start 3,” aimed at cancer prevention through lifestyle modification and vaccination. Under his leadership, AAPI has also formed a strategic partnership with the Global Association of Indian Medical Students (GAIMS) to combat cervical cancer through education, screening, and immunization programs.
