Congressman Suhas Subramanyam, who represents Virginia’s 10th Congressional District, has released a statement on behalf of Sudiksha Konanki’s family, urging the public to keep Sudiksha and her loved ones in their thoughts as the investigation continues.

“Our community is devastated by the disappearance of Sudiksha. I recently met with her family and learned about her contributions to the community and her dedication as a daughter, sister, and friend,” Subramanyam said in the statement on March 13, 2025.

On March 13th, authorities have named, Joshua Riibe, a senior at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, as the “person of interest.”

He emphasized the family’s urgent hope for her safe return and called on all agencies involved to expedite their efforts in the investigation.

As the search continues, the family has requested privacy and urged the public “not post videos, pictures, or unsubstantiated claims about Sudiksha, especially surveillance footage of her in the Dominican Republic,” added the statement.

Subramanyam also expressed gratitude to the Northern Virginia community for their overwhelming support and solidarity with Sudiksha’s family during this difficult time.
