Plethora would be too tepid a word for the titles coming this year and, one presumes, continuing in early 2027 until Prime Video showcases the next annual slate.

Prime Video unveiled its biggest new Originals slate on March 19 at its ‘Prime Video Presents—#It Starts Here’ showcase with close to 55 series and movies. Anchored by an expansive Indian Originals lineup, alongside the announcement of theatrical films from Amazon MGM Studios India and some of the biggest licensed titles, the upcoming multi-language slate promises to entertain customers at every viewing touchpoint, from streaming to cinema.

The slate features Original series and movies in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, spanning a wide range of genres across both scripted and unscripted storytelling. The lineup introduces several highly anticipated new titles, including Nikkhil Advani’s magnum opus, The Revolutionaries, starring Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Rannta and Gurfateh Pirzada; Matka King starring Vijay Varma; Raakh starring Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre and Aamir Bashir; Lukkhe, which marks the acting debut of rapper KING; and Vansh – The Kalyug Warriors, India’s first Hindi homegrown superhero series created for streaming.

Alongside these new launches, the slate also brings back new seasons of some of India’s most loved franchises, including Farzi Season 2Panchayat Season 5Call Me Bae Season 2Dupahiya Season 2Dahaad Season 2 and The Traitors Season 2, among others.

Expanding its regional storytelling with the biggest slate yet, the lineup includes major launches such as the Telugu adaptation of the hit Hindi unscripted series, The Traitors with Teja Sajja as host, Guvvala Cheruvu Ghat, a Telugu drama starring Kiran Abbavaram and Thiruveer, as well as the Tamil drama Exam, and Season 2 of Vadhandhiproduced by Pushkar and Gayatri, and Season 2 of Inspector Rishi, among others.

The slate also introduces an array of new strategic collaborations for Prime Video – Hrithik Roshan’s HRX Films, making its foray into streaming with the Original series Storm and the Original movie Mess, and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions with the Original movie Don’t Be Shy. A diverse mix of established and fresh storytellers and emerging creators are now shaping how audiences in India and across the world experience entertainment.

A key highlight included the unveiling of Amazon MGM Studio’s exciting new theatrical slate with five new Indian movies: Raftaar, starring Rajkummar Rao and Keerthy Suresh and directed by Aditya Nimbalkar; Kunal Kemmu’s directorial venture VIBE, featuring Kemmu, Preity G. Zinta (on her comeback), and Sparsh Shrivastava; Nayyi Navelli, starring Yami Gautam Dhar, directed by Balaji Mohan and produced by Aanand L. Rai; and Kuku Ki Kundli directed by Sharan Sharma, featuring Bhuvan Bam and Wamiqa Gabbi. Not just theatricals, the slate also delivers a significant lineup of licensed movies across multiple Indian languages with post-theatrical digital premieres on the service, promising a bold, cinematic experience for audiences.

“This slate marks Prime Video India’s new era, delivering unparalleled content diversity,” said Shilangi Mukherji, Director and Head of SVOD Business, Prime Video India. “India remains central to Prime Video’s global growth, ranking among the top territories worldwide for attracting new Prime members in 2025. Close to two-thirds of our customers watch content in more than four languages, reflecting the growing appetite for diverse storytelling. And our Indian content is resonating globally among customers as well — over half of the most-watched Top 50 non-English titles in 2025 came from Prime Video India.”

“Prime Video has consistently pioneered industry innovation and backed bold storytelling. Our belief in the immense creative talent in the country has seen us actively support emerging voices while fostering relationships with India’s most celebrated creative forces,” said Nikhil Madhok, director and head of Originals, Prime Video India. “We are proud to present our upcoming slate, which is our largest ever lineup of Originals along with an exciting line up of theatrical films from Amazon MGM Studios India. We continue to raise the bar for high—quality storytelling with narratives that are culturally rooted, relatable, and universally compelling.”

TVF (The Viral Fever), Karan Johar (he was also one of the major hosts)’s Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment (which has been associated with Prime since the 2019 beginnings), Vikram Malhotra’s Abunduntia Entertainment and Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandsons Entertainment are among their most regular partners. However, new associations such as Balaji Telefilms, Posham Pa Pictures, Hrithik Roshan’s HRX Films, Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions and more have also joined hands with Prime.

A host of stars and celebs also made their presence felt, including many who are a part of more than one show. Besides Preity G. Zinta coming in as she is returning to cinema, Bobby Deol, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Kay Kay Menon, Vijay Verma, Ronit Roy, Ravi Kishen, Gulshan Devaiah, Rajkummar Rao, Adivi Sesh, Dulquer Salmaan, Gulshan Grover, Gajraj Rao, Yami Gautam Dhar, Alia Bhatt, Sonali Bendre Behl, Tamannaah Bhatia, Mrunal Thakur, Aditi Rao Hydari, Konkona Sen Sharma, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pooja Hegde, Kritika Kamra, Pratibha Rannta, Raashii Khanna, Kalki Koechlin, Shruti Haasan, Renuka Shahane Rana and others. From the new actors, Katyani Mehra and Zaeden were introduced as the cast of Johar’s Dono Mile Is Tarah, but Alia and sister Shaheen Bhatt, co-producers of Don’t Be Shy, preferred to keep the cast of Don’t Be Shy a secret. Known widely to introduce new names connected with the industry, Johar joked that her stars as well as Katyani and Zaeden were unconnected with film folks, as Johar is notorious for being the “ambassador of nepotism.”

Some details of the shows can be seen in the accompanying story.
