The GSA Global Eye Magazine honored 20 outstanding achievers from across the United States at an awards ceremony on Capitol Hill on December 11, 2025, recognizing their work in transforming communities and advancing a broader spirit of empowerment.
The ceremony brought together leaders and changemakers from across the country in a celebration of service and excellence. The awardees represented cities including Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Virginia, Detroit, Memphis, Baton Rouge, Oregon, Miami, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. A notable highlight of the event was the presence of six members of Congress: Representatives Danny K. Davis (IL-7), Jonathan L. Jackson (IL-1), Cleo Fields (LA-6), Shri Thanedar (MI-13), Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-8), and Dave Min (CA-47).
A standout moment came from the youngest honoree, Creative Kiddo Award recipient Martel Tayron Guinyard, an eight-year-old second-grade student at Center City Public Charter School in Washington, D.C. During the event, Guinyard called on President Donald Trump to ensure that Washington, D.C. has its own elected representative in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Addressing the gathering, Congressman Danny K. Davis highlighted the magazine’s growing influence, noting that GSA Global Eye Magazine’s sharp focus and “pinpointed analysis” have resonated with younger audiences as well as with readers seeking in-depth perspectives.
Congressman Davis presented the Global Eye Magazine Community Achievers Awards to the following honorees:
- Creative Kiddo Award 2025: Martel Tayron Guinyard, “in recognition of his creative skills in experimentation and problem solving.”
- Corporate of the Year Award 2025: Eric A. Hardy, “in recognition of his leadership in executing transformative initiatives in the healthcare and financial services sectors.”
- Voice of Courage Award 2025: Dr. Rani Yousefzai, CEO of Empower Consulting LLC, Skokie, Illinois, “in recognition of her transformational writing that led to the publication of Embracing the Self Sufficient Mindset.”
- Global Changemaker Award 2025: Maninder Singh Sethi, President of Business USA, Inc., McLean, Virginia, “in recognition of his leadership in business development, real estate, and community empowerment.”
- Global Diplomat Award 2025: Dr. Nawab Mir Nasir Ali Khan, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, India, “in recognition of his efforts in fostering international cooperation and building cross-cultural bridges.”
- Autism Care Advocacy Champion Award 2025: TY Spears, Founder and CEO of the Jardine Spears Autism Foundation, Atlanta, Georgia, “in recognition of his commitment to advocacy for Autism care and awareness.”
- Innovative Author Award 2025: Raj Ramesh, serial entrepreneur, Reston, Virginia, “in recognition of his creativity and originality in authoring ‘100 Nuggets for Life and Business.’”
- Global Innovator Award 2025: Sam Bousfield, CEO of Samson Sky, Portland, Oregon, “in recognition of his recent launching of an all-American switchblade flying sportscar.”
- Excellence in Healthcare Access Advocacy Award 2025: Dr. Heavenly Kimes, CEO of Smiles by Dr. Heavenly, Duluth, Georgia, “in recognition of her dedication to advocacy for equitable healthcare access.”
- Golden Star of the Year 2025: Avinder Chawla, President of the Global Sikh Foundation, Orange County, California, “in recognition of his continued leadership in empowering the communities of South Asia and Central Asia.”
- The Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. Leadership Excellence Award 2025: Dr. Weymouth Spence, President of Washington Adventist University, Maryland, “in recognition of his leadership in enriching and empowering spiritual development in the university landscape.”
- Corporate Trailblazer Award 2025: P. I. Joy, CEO of Think I Tech LLC, Norcross, Georgia, “in recognition of shaping the future of aerospace with advanced drone manufacturing.”
- Excellence in Advocacy for Sustainable Agriculture Award 2025: Dr. Ma’at Latham, National Agriculture Liaison, NMSDC, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, “in recognition of her commitment to advocacy of our farmers in sustainable agriculture.”
- Rising Star of the Year 2025: Himanshu Karnwal, CEO of ISHTECH Inc., Johns Creek, Georgia, “in recognition of his advocacy for public service and mobilization of suffrage among ethnic communities.”
- Community Catalyst Award 2025: Fatimata N. Traore, National Women’s Chair, American Multi Ethnic Commission, USA, “in recognition of her dedication to advocacy of women empowerment among ethnic communities of America.”
- Community Luminary Award 2025: Nagesh Chilakapati, Executive Director of the MANA American Telugu Association, USA, “in recognition of his community service through MANA.”
Delivering the presidential address, Congressman Jackson congratulated Dr. Vijay G. Prabhakar, founder and chair of the Global Eye Magazine Group, for his “vision and leadership” in bringing the celebration to Capitol Hill.

He also commended GSA Global Eye Magazine for launching a community partnership focused on progress and empowerment. Congressman Jackson presented each honoree with a Congressional proclamation recognizing their achievements, which was entered into the U.S. Congressional Record, along with a Congressional medallion.
“This ceremony reflects Global Eye Magazine’s initiative to recognize those who uplift America with integrity, compassion, and leadership,” Dr. Prabhakar said in his opening remarks, adding that the event will become an annual feature.
Representatives Thanedar, Fields, and Min also congratulated the awardees and acknowledged their contributions during their remarks.
Earlier, Magizhan Tamilarasu, Awards Jury co-chair and Global Strategic Adviser for GSA Global Eye Magazine, welcomed attendees and described Dr. Prabhakar as a “high energy leader, master strategist, persuasive writer and a dynamic public speaker.” He also recognized Dr. Prabhakar as a “bi-partisan leader” who champions the causes of ethnic communities.
Congressman Krishnamoorthi congratulated the GSA Global Eye Magazine team for “scaling new heights and for providing compelling features with penetrating insights.”
Priya Kumar, a business development consultant from Reston, Virginia, and Meenal Manikandan, Mrs. Bharat U.S. from Chantilly, Virginia, served as co-hosts. Subhashree Susindran of Frederick, Maryland, served as the emcee.
The event concluded with a collective call to “celebrate togetherness by strengthening community partnerships and amplifying diverse voices, in order to continue building a more united and inspired America.”
