Salman Khan to build Rs. 10K Crore studio in Telangana

Salman Khan is planning to build a Rs. 10,000 crore integrated township and studio project in Telangana. One of that state’s largest proposed investments in the creative sector, the details were outlined in a media release of the Telangana Rising Summit. At its core, the project will house a studio complex for large-format and OTT productions, post-production and talent development, and will also feature a championship golf course, curated nature trails, racecourse, leisure amenities and premium housing, as per a report in Bombay Times.

Kamal Haasan feels ‘Regional is the new national’

At the South Unbound event in Chennai, Kamal Haasan expounded on how modern storytelling has risen above a single medium. “Today, stories are truly screen-agnostic and travel with the viewer. The audience is the platform. Screens simply follow people.”

He also noted that Southern films like Drishyam, Pushpa, Vikram, Baahubali, Kantara and Amaran reach more than 275 million people, giving the region significant global potential. “Today, regional has become the new national, and ethnicity the new international. We need strong ecosystems and supportive policies,” he stressed, urging the industry not to miss the moment as “there has never been a better time to be a storyteller.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas bats for Kapil Sharma’s film

Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently reunited with Kapil Sharma on the sets of The Great Indian Kapil Show. The actress posed with him during her visit to Mumbai, rekindling their long-standing association that dates back to her appearances on his previous shows. She showered praise on Kapil Sharma’s upcoming comedy sequel, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, leaving fans excited for the December 12 release by watching the trailer and raving, “Yeh to dekhna banta hai!”

Dhurandhar banned in Gulf countries

Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE have not released Dhurandhar, as the film is perceived as an ‘anti-Pakistan film’. In the past, such films have failed to get a release in this region. Bollywoodhungama.com recounts past films that failed to get releases here: Fighter, Sky ForceThe Diplomat, Article 370 (also written and produced by Aditya Dhar), Tiger 3 and The Kashmir Files are earlier films that were banned, though the last-mentioned movie was later cleared with an Adults-only certificate.

Z5 to release Malayalam mystery-comedy Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse

Z5’s Malayalam mystery-comedy-thriller film Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse will premiere December 19. Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon in his Malayalam debut, the film is produced by Mammootty Kampany and features Mammootty who plays Dominic, a seasoned former police officer who has now stepped into the shoes of a private detective. What appears to be a routine assignment, tracing the owner of a misplaced ladies’ purse, soon evolves into something far more sinister.

With its blend of humor, suspense, and emotional layers, the narrative features an ensemble cast of Gokul Suresh, Sushmitha Bhat, Viji Venkatesh, Siddique, Vineeth and Vijay Babu.
