A Melodic Journey: My Tryst with Music and a Maiden Malayalam Collaboration

For over two decades, music has been more than a passion – it has been my lifeblood. My journey at OnMobile Global Limited has been nothing short of extraordinary—a thrilling roller coaster that began with the advent of Ring Back tones and spanned across multiple countries.

From discovering new talents and forging new relationships, to building partnerships with Majors and regional music labels worldwide, every moment has been fuelled by an unwavering love for music.

Working with artists and media houses brought me immense validation, and inspired me to keep pushing boundaries. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with dynamic, creative individuals who enriched my journey and helped me develop unique skills. A key influence in this journey has been my mentor and music guru, Managing Director at Turnkey Music & Publishing Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai, Atul Churamani.

Earlier this year, I embarked on a new adventure in the world of music production. A long-standing discussion with producer and good friend Justin Samuel James finally materialized, and I decided to take the leap in October 2024. He proposed starting with Malayalam music, recognizing the unique challenges posed by language barriers in entering this vibrant market.

Working on my debut song, “Ariyunnen Hridayame,” was an exhilarating experience. The core team based out of Kerala came together in record time under the guidance of Prajesh Mullikkot and Rupesh Mukkattil, who played a pivotal role in assembling the crew. Despite the geographical distance, the entire project was meticulously coordinated from Bangalore. And when the final piece came together, it felt magical.

The song, distributed by Virgin Music, made a remarkable impact with over 100,000 views on Youtube in its initial run. This milestone would not been possible without the unwavering support of Alp Music. While this is only the beginning, the journey has instilled in me a renewed sense of purpose to curate and share more exceptional music from the region.

As I reflect on this experience, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the path ahead. This maiden Malayalam collaboration is a testament to the power of music to bring people together, regardless of barriers, and I am looking forward to see where this journey takes me next.
