Foreign Ministers of India and Kazakhstan meet in Astana

On the sidelines of the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on July 2, 2024, in Astana, Kazakhstan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, and India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar held a bilateral meeting.

A press release from the Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry, which was circulated by a July 8th news bulletin from the Kazakhstan Embassy in Washington DC, noted both Ministers Jaishankar and Nurtleu discussed enhancing their strategic partnership and international cooperation in areas such as energy, transportation, IT, tourism, human capital and climate change.

Minister Jaishankar also praised Kazakhstan’s successful SCO Chairmanship and expressed support for all Kazakh initiatives, according to the bulletin.
